Xela Cafe was a SUCCESS! First I want to thank all of my friends and family who came out and supported!! It was such an awesome feeling to have everyone there cheering me on despite any obstacles that appeared throughout the day. I could honestly feel the love in the "shop". I had such an emotional performance! I debuted a brand-spankin' new song called "Redemption" and i hope everyone liked it. The song was so freeing and liberating that it made me cry.lol But when tears fall, the show must go on. Hector & Josh from Urban Ops KILLED it once again with their inspiring Spoken Word. When they speak you can feel all the energy and emotion coming out of their souls and captivating the ears of the audience. Then, Blueprint Graffiti brought down the house with their flavor filled rap/poetry/songs..and Krystal Lopez' voice was simply beautiful. All in All i had an amazing night. BTW...Xela Cafe's Guatemalan Tamales were AMAZING!!! Just what i was hoping for!!! Thank you again to everyone who came out, Thank you to the staff at Xela Cafe for opening your doors, and a special thank you to Cirene Mercado who made it all possible!! I look forward to the next event!!!

The Seed!!!!!!!!!
Duuudeeee.....Music, Spoken Word, & Art at its finest. This event was awesome! I had such a good time this last weekend at "The Seed". It's always cool to see people come out and support the arts. I got to sing two of my new songs "The Prodigal" & "Mirror Image" which made me pretty nervous being that the only people that had heard it were my sister and brother-in-law.. so as expected I was shaking in my chanclas (flip flops)....Nevertheless, to my surprise...they liked it!!!! Which was epic for me! Reason being that...it just encourages me to continue on. Hector & Josh from Urban Ops gave an amazing spoken word as always. They delivered passion and feeling which the audience went haywire over. I also really enjoyed the other two gentlemen who spoke...both of them were deep, the last guy even made me cry.. The ART was just ridiculous. My favorite by far was the "Lauren Hill" piece by Marko Lodrigueza...just beautiful. Last but not least, the FELLOWSHIP...awesome...it was so cool to rub shoulders with people and get to talking..that what Jesus would have done:]
BTW, I was really touched by the "Reparando" video we saw in representation of a movement going on in the streets of Guatemala. God is doing something to repair the lives of young men and women who call their streets of brokenness their home. Even though we aren't all missionaries, we can help make a difference through our giving:] If you are interested in getting a copy of this powerful documentary, please follow the link for more info:]

Hello Showtime!
O.m.G.- omg-omg-omg-omg...
There are 2 upcoming shows in the next two months that i am..1.Super stoked about, and 2.Nervous out of mind! It's always a little nerve racking when singing in general, but these two shows are particularly intimidating because I will be debuting 2 new songs from my current project! I'm scared because I don't know how people will react to them...but at the end of the day, what matters is that I sing with my heart. I really hope God ministers to the people there, and that the lyrics can cut through and interrupt the lives of people for a moment and cause them to see the beauty of Gods mercy and love. Hope you guys can make it out! I will update the address to the venues when i get more info!

Sweet Sounds of Adele

OMG.
This is what music should sound like. Honestly its amazing. The Brit singer Adele is smashing US & UK charts right now with her new album. Seriously...go and buy it. There is not one bad critique to even begin to ponder.
I absolutely love Adele's new album (21).
It gives a wonderful blend of Folk, R&B, Ballads, and even a little Country feel... I'm floored. I love Adele because she is such a free writer. Her words always flow so well, capturing the essence of her thoughts. I hope to write like her one day.
Anyway, I thought i should mention her because she is most definitely blog-worthy. I'm a huge fan, and i cant wait to see her in concert in June. Yep! be jealous, I'm going!!!!

Its Been So Long, Love
Good lord I'm horrible!
For the 22 people who have any interest in what I'm writing... i have finally come to my braking point. Its been FOREVER since i wrote anything on here, and personally i think i do it so i wont sound crazy talking to myself about this...i hope its working.lol Well a whole bunch has happened since i last wrote anything on here so here are some updates:
1. My beautiful niece Camila was born December 11, 2010
2. I got a new car in October!!!!!!!
3. I recorded a few songs and... that's pretty much it!
I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, and everything in between:]
Well the reason i got back on this thing is because I'm kinda at the point of asking myself "what are you going to do with this music thing??"
and so here i find myself pacing back and forth wonder what the right thing to do is...
But i wonder,
If i never try, will i regret my decisions when I'm older with no opportunities?
But if i try and fail, will i regret that?
The world is full of decisions, and all we can do is look to the Lord for guidance. With so many avenues, how does anyone know what route to take? It seems to me that I'm a jar full of answered questions. However I'm determined to find out what and how I'm supposed to do anything. I look at different people who are successful and hear their stories on how they didn't give up, and pushed through and eventually found success. But my question is, how many people push but never catch a break? Is it just a lucky few that end up with their dream?
Whatever our dreams are BIG small or WiLd... it becomes our responsibility to live them in this reality. I believe in the words spoken over my life, and i believe in the wonderful stories that people who have supported me since passion have experienced. So i feel like this:
If putting my life, talent, songs, & dignity on the line can help bring people to the reality that god loves them regardless of who they are, and my music helps just ONE person...than its worth it to lose it all. If He gave his all for me, then i can put what i have on the line. Because at the end of the day its not about me...its about that ONE.
So please, be expecting new music within the next few months. Its coming...I promise.
xoxo,
Krys
